INTRODUCTION.
Modern houses commonly encounter issues such as inadequate daylight provision, leading to reliance on artificial lighting throughout the premises. Moreover, achieving thermal comfort often necessitates the use of mechanical devices like fans and air conditioners. Consequently, occupants may face higher utility expenses. Incorporating passive design principles can mitigate these challenges by harnessing natural climate conditions for comfort without relying on mechanical systems. Passive design not only enhances comfort but also promotes energy efficiency, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and yields cost savings.

TASKS.
METHODOLOGY.
Students were required to form a group of five (5) members according to the preselected list provided by the tutor. Our tutor, Ar. Axxu Hoi Jung Wai, guided us, and we promptly assigned tasks among ourselves. Our main objective was to select a landed residential space presenting issues with daylighting and thermal comfort to be presented on an A2 board. Following the identification of these issues, we gathered secondary data using resources such as Sun Path charts and Psychometric charts. Subsequently, we were also required to conduct data collection for both daylighting and thermal comfort, recording Lux readings and temperature measurements at specified times throughout the day. Additionally, we were tasked with brainstorming ideas for passive design interventions to enhance daylighting and thermal comfort, supported by relevant photographs, drawings, and sketches.
POSTER
MODERN HOUSE, RAWANG
House no.11 on Jalan Anggun 3N remains unoccupied and lacks both fans and air conditioning, presenting an ideal case for investigating daylighting and thermal comfort issues within a space. This property is a double-storey corner lot of a semi-detached house, featuring various rooms including a dining area, living room, kitchen, guest room, powder room, utility room, storage room, three bedrooms, four bathrooms, one family room, and a balcony. Our attention was primarily directed towards the living and dining area, constituting a single, uninterrupted space.

REFLECTION.
"
Our group faced challenges from the beginning, including slight disagreements and misunderstandings. Initially, there was little to no communication from a few members, which not only disrupted our collaborative process but also made it difficult to delegate tasks accordingly. Though the group leader tried her best to encourage open dialogue, it was all in vain as some of them only began to gather momentum towards the end, nearing the deadline. However, amidst the discord, I hope everyone recognized the need for open communication and mutual respect, especially when navigating challenges within group projects. Ultimately, the experience served as a valuable lesson in teamwork as well as the ability to compromise when conflicting ideas arise.
