PROJECT 1 : CONTEXTUAL STUDY SKETCH JOURNAL OF A TRADITIONAL SHEET

This project presents new ways of reading traditional street lexicons based on physical architectural and spatial aspects as well as intangible social attributes. It helps students comprehend the specific conditions that shape the unique place identity and sociocultural values of traditional streets. Observations are recorded in a journal with written summaries.

Students must make a physical site visit to one of the allotted traditional streets to investigate its unique place contexts, identifying the street's borders using the accompanying map links. They must identify the physical and non-physical contexts of the chosen street using various sources, including books, websites, and articles. Observations should be documented in a manual sketch diary using the format indicated in the submission criteria section.

Discuss the relationship between architecture and its social, cultural, and intellectual contexts in Asia.

REFLECTION.

"

Our group faced challenges from the beginning, including slight disagreements and misunderstandings. Initially, there was little to no communication from a few members, which not only disrupted our collaborative process but also made it difficult to delegate tasks accordingly. Though the group leader tried her best to encourage open dialogue, it was all in vain as some of them only began to gather momentum towards the end, nearing the deadline. However, amidst the discord, I hope everyone recognized the need for open communication and mutual respect, especially when navigating challenges within group projects. Ultimately, the experience served as a valuable lesson in teamwork as well as the ability to compromise when conflicting ideas arise.

PROJECT 2 (GROUP) :
POSTER AND SEMINAR-CONTEMPORARY ISSUE

Students are required to analyze key issues encountered during their site tour critically. Using the problem-based learning approach, tutors lead weekly facilitated group discussions to construct an appraisal framework within the defined scope. The learning process culminates in suggesting viable solutions, presented through a research poster and seminar.
